Mccarthy tetrault hires new energy infra partner Tina Blazquez Lopez for London office

McCarthy Tétrault has announced that Tina Blázquez-López has joined the firm as a partner in London. Ms. Blázquez-López has significant international project experience, adding strength to McCarthy Tétrault's projects team. Her addition also reinforces the firm's strategy to expand its services for clients involved with energy, mining and infrastructure projects - particularly those in emerging markets globally.

Tina has more than 10 years of experience advising lenders, sponsors, borrowers, purchasers and investors in project and acquisition financings across Sub-Saharan Africa, Europe and the Middle East. Her recent transactions have included the financings of energy projects and airports in a number of African countries, Turkey and Canada. She is fluent in Spanish.

Tinas was a Senior Associate at Chadbourne & Parke LLP from 2009 to 2013. Tina also worked for HSBC, Allen & Overy and Dewey & LeBoeuf.

Rob Brant, Managing Partner of the London office, said:

"We are delighted to welcome Tina to our team. Our clients will benefit greatly from Tina's combination of commercial skills and sector knowledge, and her terrific international track record."

McCarthy Tétrault's national energy, power, mining and infrastructure groups serve the full range of sector participants in Canada and internationally. With experience working on North America's largest projects, the group also advises on complex foreign legal issues relating to the development, structuring, financing and operation of large, successful energy undertakings globally. Recently, the firm assisted Heritage Oil Plc on all aspects of the refinancing of its $850 million oil and gas acquisition in Nigeria.
