Long list of six development partners announced for new UK hospital building programme

South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust have announced they have completed the first stage of the procurement process for the Estate Modernisation Programme (EMP).

The programme will deliver two new hospitals, develop extensive community services and provide new homes and parkland for the local community.

The first stage of the process was a key milestone for the Trust and involved selecting the ‘Long List’ of six development partners. The Trust has a three stage process to select the right development partner to deliver the whole of the Estate Modernisation Programme.

The six development partners selected to move on to the next stage are:

  • Lendlease Europe Holdings Ltd
  • Macquarie Corporate Holdings Pty Ltd & Kier Construction Ltd
  • Notting Hill Housing Trust & MACE Ltd
  • Skanska Construction Ltd & Barratt Developments PLC
  • STEP (Kajima Partnerships and Sir Robert McAlpine Capital Ventures Ltd)
  • Vinci PLC, Telereal Trillium & One Housing Group

The next stage will assess the plans provided by the six development partners listed above before choosing three of these suppliers to move on to the next stage. The Trust is aiming to have selected one of the above suppliers to deliver the programme by July 2017.

Chief Executive David Bradley said:

“We are pleased to have reached this important milestone in our aim to select a development partner who will create the new hospitals our patients need. It is very important to us that we provide patients with the best facilities and services possible. The estates modernization programme will deliver better services for our patients in first class modern facilities.”
