LA Metro receives three more unsolicited proposals for Measure M projects

The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) has announced the reception of three more unsolicited proposals for the Measure M mega projects, one for the West Santa Ana Branch Light Rail project and two others for the Sepulveda Pass project, what brings a total of eight unsolicited proposals for the Measure M projects.

Sepulveda Corridor Development Partners consortium which includes HDR, Plenary Group, Star America, Canadian Imperial Bank, Mott McDonald, PointC and Millbank Tweed has submitted a bid for the Sepulveda Pass. The other one came from Parsons.

On the other hand the consortium formed by Kiewit and AECOM submitted the proposal for the West Santa Ana Rail project.

The tender is following an innovative P3 model to deliver the projects in order to accelerate the award process.

In early October, Metro announced it received five other unsolicited proposals for the Measure M mega projects including Parker Infrastructure Partners, ACS, Skansa and Goldam Sachs.

Metro CEO Phillip A. Washington, said:

“Obviously the private sector is taking us seriously in answering our call for innovation. We are encouraged to see how teams are forming with potential ways to help us get projects done sooner through big ideas and innovative solutions.”
