Kenyatta University (KU), located about 23 km from the city of Nairobi, plans to use a Public Private Partnership (PPP) mechanism for procuring and financing the development of accommodation for its students.
The project involves the provision of housing to a minimum of 10,000 students, as per the following percentages:
The successful bidder will enter into a PPP agreement on a built, operate and transfer (BOT) basis with KU for the project.
Companies interested in participating in the tender process must submit Expressions of Interest on or before Monday 3rd March, 2014 at 10.00 a.m.
The institution (KU) is the second largest in Kenya. In 1997 it had about 8,000 students. As of 2009, has about 24,000 students. The university offers bachelor's degrees, master's degrees, and doctoral degrees, and medical and law degrees through 11 campuses. The university has open-learning, e-learning, school-based, part-time and full-time teaching.
