Josep Pique appointed as CEO of Grupo OHL

OHL's Board of Directors yesterday appointed Mr Josep Pique Camps as Vice Chairman and CEO of OHL Group. Previously, he had been appointed Board Member of Grupo Villar Mir, a leading Spanish private industrial groups, which includes OHL, Fertiberia Ferroatlantica, VM Energía and Inmobiliaria Espacio.

Josep Piqué has a degree and PhD in Economics and a law degree from the University of Barcelona.

Josep Pique joins OHL after that a career as an economist, businessman and politician with positions of high responsibility.

Josep Piqué was Minister of Industry and Energy (1996-2000), Foreign Minister (2000-2002) and Minister of Science and Technology (2002-2003). He remained in politics until 2007, as chairman of the Popular Party of Catalonia.

Regarding business management, among others, Josep Pique was CEO Ercros Group from 1992 to 1996, and Chairman of Vueling Airlines (2007-2013). Additionally, since February 2012, he is the representative of Spain in the Board of Directors of the European aeronautics consortium EADS.
