Jones Day office in Perth attracts Projects & Infrastructure partner Paul Riethmuller

The fast-growing Perth Office of Jones Day, an international law firm with 41 offices worldwide, has hired Paul Riethmuller.

Paul Riethmuller has previously been a partner in Ashurst's Construction and Infrastructure Practice. He will become a partner in Jones Day's Projects & Infrastructure Practice in Perth, where the firm opened an office last year and which is now staffed by ten lawyers, including three partners, who are currently working on major resources and infrastructure projects.

John Cooper, the new Partner-in-Charge of Jones Day Perth, stated:

"Paul is an extremely valuable addition for us, as we continue to grow our presence in Perth and our national energy, resources, and infrastructure team, which now features eight partners. He brings to Jones Day nearly 30 years of experience and an impressive record of successful client engagement, while building further on our capability in Western Australia and nationally. Our Projects & Infrastructure Practice is led by experienced partners, who all hail from major national firms. We are currently acting on many significant projects around Australia and are well positioned for long term growth in the energy, resources, and infrastructure sectors."

Mr Riethmuller has advised clients on significant construction, energy, mining, and infrastructure projects across Australia, providing guidance relating to contracts and tenders and issues arising from these agreements. He also brings to Jones Day significant success in litigation and arbitration work, along with experience in various forms of alternative dispute resolution.

Paul Riethmuller was recognized as a leading lawyer by Best Lawyers in Australia (2014) in the Construction/Infrastructure category, and by Chambers Asia Pacific (2014) in the Construction and Projects categories.

Arman Galledari, the London-based Practice Leader for Jones Day's Projects & Infrastructure Practice, commented:

"Paul brings valuable experience in the power and mining sectors, which will benefit Jones Day clients, not just in Western Australia, but around the world. His deep knowledge of contracts, tenders, and numerous forms of dispute resolution brings more depth to our strong capabilities for clients in these sectors. We look forward to working with him."
