Ireland seeks consultants for highways

The Government of Ireland has launched the tender process to seeks consultants for highways in relation to its tunnel operations and maintenance activities, its motorway traffic control centre operation and management activities and its motorway service areas programme.

Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) is seeking a service provider to provide the services for a period 6 years with an option to extend for up to another 2 years. Services may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Providing advice on and monitoring compliance with Tunnel Safety Directive obligations across all tunnels on the national road network.
  • The carrying out of contract management and performance monitoring activities, including periodic audits on existing tunnel systems and operations.
  • Providing advice on matters relating to NEC3 Contract administration or any other contract that may be entered into in respect of a tunnel/service area.
  • The development and management of detailed task orders in respect of tunnel life cycle renewal activities and including toll collection system renewals.
  • The administration and monitoring of PPP Contracts including review of key documentation deliverables and the carrying out of periodic audits on existing tunnel and motorway service area facility systems and operations.
  • The provision of advice to ITT by both an ITS/SCADA Specialist and a Tolling Specialist in the fields of ITS/SCADA and in the area of tolling systems design and/or implementation.

The estimated total value is €12 million (US$13.4 million) and the deadline for submitting proposals is September 16th.
