IO shortlists firms for new children's treatment centres

On July 26, 2013 Infrastructure Ontario and ErinoakKids Centre for Treatment and Development have shortlisted three teams to design, build and finance new children's treatment centres in Brampton, Mississauga and Oakville.

Based on a request for qualifications process that began in January 2013, the three following teams were shortlisted:

Peel-Halton Partnership

Kids Health Infrastructure Partnership

PCL Partnerships

The teams will be invited to respond to a request for proposals, expected to be issued in fall 2013.

The project:

The ErinoakKids Centre for Treatment and Development is the largest of Ontario's 20 children's treatment centres, treating more than 13,500 children and youth with disabilities each year in Peel, Halton and Dufferin.

The largest facility will be approximately 122,000 square feet and will be located in Brampton, with the other two sites in Mississauga and Oakville, approximately 93,000 and 74,000 square feet respectively.

The new buildings are slated to open in early 2017 and will offer a wide range of services.
