ING Investment Management (ING IM) has appointed Alistair Perkins as head of project finance and he will be responsible for building and managing infrastructure and project loan portfolios for both ING Insurance and other institutional investors.

With over 18 years' professional experience, Perkins joins from Dexia Management Services where he was head of restructuring and asset sales with responsibility for corporate restructuring, distressed debt situations and asset value preservation. Before, he was a director for Dexia Credit Local and has also held senior roles at NIBC Bank and CIT.

He will report to Han Rijken, head of fixed income insurance at ING IM. Alistair will help European pension funds and insurance companies in developing debt financing for long term capital projects such as energy, natural resources and infrastructure projects.

The specialist project and infrastructure finance team will initially consist of three professionals and it will expand with growth in the number of institutional clients.
