Infrastrutture Lombarde awards Milan health PPP

Infrastrutture Lombarde (Italy) has awarded to a consortium led by Società  italiana per condotte d'acqua the Milan health & research city PPP project "Città  della Salute e della Ricerca di Milano".

The winning team is composed of Società  italiana per condotte d'acqua, its subsidiary Inso (specialized in hospital concessions), Italiana Costruzioni and Prima Vera.

The project involves the development of a health center that will hold a cancer treatment center and a neurology health center. The new 705-bed facility will be developed on an area of 129,000 m².

The total project investment is estimated at €283.5 million (US$317.9 million). The 27 year concession contract has an estimated value of approximately €500 million.

Milan, the second most populous city in Italy, serves as the capital of Lombardy. The city proper has a population of about 1.3 million, while its urban area, the 5th-largest in the EU, comprises an estimated 5,264,000 people. Milan is the main industrial, commercial, and financial centre of Italy.
