InfraRed completes sale of its stake in A63 motorway in France

InfraRed Capital Partners, acting on behalf of InfraRed Infrastructure Fund III, has sold its 42% stake in Atlandes, the concession-holder of the A63 motorway in South-West France, to a consortium comprising AXA Investment Managers - Real Assets, acting on behalf of AXA Insurance Companies, and Crédit Agricole Assurances.

The A63 is a 104 kilometer motorway located in the South-West of France, connecting Bordeaux to the Spanish border, with two toll points along the route. The strategic asset, which has been in operation since 2011, links Northern Europe to the Iberian Peninsula, hosting 30,000 international vehicles of all types daily.

InfraRed has successfully developed this asset over the last 6 years alongside experienced business partners, from initial award of the concession in 2010, through financial closing in 2011, start of toll collection and completion of the construction works in 2013, and more recently a full long term refinancing in 2015.

This transaction represents the final step for this investment of the fund’s value-add strategy aiming at delivering superior risk-adjusted returns.
