Hutama Karya to transfer multimillion toll road concessions in Indonesia

PT Hutama Karya (Persero) has announced that Trans Sumatra Toll Road (JTTS) sections are ready to be transferred to Indonesia Investment Authority (INA). Once transferred, INA will divest or transfer the concessions to raise seed capital for new toll roads in Sumatra.

Until now Hutama Karya has undertaken 1,065 km of toll roads. Out of which, 534 km of toll roads are under construction and 531 km of toll roads are already operational.

The operational sections are :

  • Terbanggi Besar Toll Road (141 Km)
  • Terbanggi Besar Toll Road – Pematang Panggang – Kayu Agung Toll Road (189 Km)
  • Palembang – Indralaya Toll Road (22 Km)
  • Medan Binjai Toll Road (17 Km)
  • Toll Road Pekanbaru – Dumai (132 Km)
  • Sigli – Banda Aceh Toll Road section 3 Jantho – Indrapuri (16 Km)
  • section 4 Indrapuri – Blang Bintang (14 Km)

The sections under construction are :

  • Sigli – Banda Aceh toll road sections 1,2.5 and 6 (45 Km)
  • Pekanbaru – Pangkalan (64 km)
  • Padang – Sicincin Toll Road. (36 Km)
  • Bengkulu – Taba Penanjung Toll Road (18 Km)
  • Sp. Indralaya – Muara Enim (119 Km)
  • Binjai – Langsa Toll Road Binjai – Pangkalan Brandan (58 Km)
  • Kuala Tanjung – Tebing Tinggi – Parapat Toll Road (143 Km)
  • Kisaran – Indrapura Toll Road (48 Km)

JTTS is scheduled to become operational by 2023. INA expects to raise US$3.75 billion from this toll road concession. INA has received interest from Caisse de dépôtet placement du Québec (CDPQ), APG Asset Management (APG), and a subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) invest in the concession.
