Honduras re-tenders road concession

Honduras' public-private partnership promotion agency, Coalianza, has re-launched the tender process for the concession of the toll highway Western Corridor Highway CA-4 phase I Chamelecon - Naco - La Ceibita - La Entrada.

The road will run through the region of Cortes, Santa Barbara and Copán, in the northwestern area of the Republic of Honduras. It begins in Chamelecón, municipality of San Pedro Sula, region of Cortés, in northern Honduras and gradually moves to the western area of the country to connect with the city of La Entrada, region of Copán.

The project involves the design, build, finance, operation and maintenance (DBFOM) of the CA-4 road through the public private partnership (PPP) model. The 106 km road will link Chamelecón, Naco and La Entrada. The concession contract will have a period of 30 years.

Interested parties must submit their proposals on or before 11 October 2016.

This announcement comes after Coalianza re-launched the tender in October 2015. Previously, a total of four teams were shortlisted for the project but none of them submitted bids. The four shortlisted teams were the following: Eterna S.A. de C.V., Consorcio Carreteras de Occidente S.A., Consorcio Vial de Occidente S.A. and Carrillo Caicedo (Concai S.A.).
