Honduras launches tender for Rio Amarillo airport concession
Honduras PPP Unit, Coalianza, has invited companies interested in the construction, financing, operation and maintenance of the Río Amarillo airport in Copán department.
The project consists of construction of a 1,200m runway, a 352m2 terminal building, control tower and ancillary works. The capital investment for the project is estimated at US$7 million.
Banco Continental is advising Coalianza in the bidding process. The deadline for submission of Expressions of Interest is July 31st.
On June 12th, a decree was passed authorizing the execution of the project.
In April 2013, Honduras PPP Unit, Coalianza, invited companies interested in the design, construction, financing, operation, maintenance and transfer of Palmerola International Airport project. Proposals are to be submitted on July 19th, 2013.

Nine companies show interest in Palmerola airport
Coalinaza has announced that companies from Argentina, Chile, China, Honduras and Colombia are participating in the tender for the design, construction, financing, operation and maintenance of a new terminal at Palmerola airport in Honduras. Companies from Mexico, Ecuador, Brazil and Spain expressed interest in the project but finally did not submit any documents.The pre-qualified companies will submit technical and financial proposals in late September.
