HICL Infrastructure appoints new Chairman

HICL Infrastructure, a long term investor in infrastructure projects, has appointed Ian Russell as Chairman of the Board of Directors, replacing Graham Picken.

Mr. Ian S. M. Russell, a qualified accountant, is currently the Chairman of Johnston Press and a non-executive director of British Polythene, Mercantile Investment Trust and British Assets Trust. He was also previously a non-executive director of The Scottish Investment Trust plc.

Between 1994 and 2006 Mr. Ian worked for Scottish Power, initially as Finance Director and from 2001 as its CEO. Prior to this he spent 8 years as Finance Director at HSBC Asset Management in Hong Kong and London. 

HICL Infrastructure has also announced that Frank Nelson will become the Senior Independent Director, replacing John Hallam. He is currently a non-executive director of McCarthy and Stone and Thames Valley Housing Association.

Mr Nelson, a qualified accountant, has over 25 years of experience in the construction, contracting, infrastructure and energy sectors. From 2000 until October 2012 he was Finance Director of construction and house-building group Galliford Try. Prior to this he was Finance Director of Try Group Plc from 1987, leading the company through its flotation on the London Stock Exchange in 1989 and the subsequent merger with Galliford in 2001.
