Group offers interconnected tunnel PPP in the Philippines

A local consortium has made an unsolicited proposal to the incoming Philippine administration for a PPP project consisting of developing a nationwide tunnel network in order to enhance the transport and support agriculture and stop smuggling problems.

The total project investment is expected at a certain PHP170 billion (US$3.7 billion).

The consortium behind the Philippines Integrated Trackways Systems project is formed by Philtrak Inc., Del Monte Motor Works Corp., Del Monte Land Transport Inc., Del Monte Land Transport Inc., Micrologics Systems Inc., Versatech Engineering Consultants Inc., and Land Excel Corp.

The project's scope encompasses the construction of interconnected tunnels all over the country with opening slots regularly distributed and specially designed for passenger vehicles, cargo freights and farmer vans in Luzon, visayas and Mindanao. Ports would also be connected by these tunnels.

Additionally, the project also contemplates the developing of solar-powered urban areas built near the tunnels.

The Philippines Integrated Trackways Systems project is aimed to support farmer and fisherman families of the region allowing a better transport and distribution of their products from farm and sea gates to city markets.
