Greece launches public consultation for sports PPP

The Greek General Secretariat of Sports has initiated a public consultation process on the Draft Invitation for Expressions of Interest of the international public tender for the project "Implementation of eleven (11) open swimming pools and seven (7) metal gyms, via a PPP".

The private partner selected will undertake the design, financing, construction and heavy maintenance of eleven (11) open swimming pools and seven (7) metal gyms via a PPP, for a period of 20 years.

The project is directly linked to the facilitation and development of sports aquatics and basketball - volleyball - handball - fitness - heavy-weight sports in various cities and their surrounding areas. The benefits of the facilities' operation include fulfilling the needs of sports and cultural activities, creating new jobs, and creating a significant attraction for sports? teams and clubs for recreation and training.

Interested parties are invited to submit any written opinions, concerns and observations in relation to the Draft Invitation, until March 17th, 2014 .
