Golding capital partners wins 300m infra mandate from HUK Coburg insurance group

Golding Capital Partners has been awarded one of the largest independent infrastructure investment mandates in the German-speaking area from HUK-COBURG Asset Management GmbH. The mandate is for €300 million, which Golding Capital Partners will allocate to a broadly diversified infrastructure portfolio as an investment advisor to the HUK-COBURG Insurance Group. As well as traditional assets in the transport, energy and utilities sectors this also includes renewable energies.

The appointment of Golding Capital Partners as an investment advisor to HUK-COBURG Asset Management GmbH was preceded by an extensive, in-depth international selection process which pitted the Munich-based company against several other investment managers. The leading independent investment partner for private equity, private debt and infrastructure in Germany has a high-profile team of experts for infrastructure investments. The experienced sector specialists from Golding Capital Partners cover the entire range of relevant infrastructure segments.

"The infrastructure sector offers very attractive investment opportunities. They display regular income streams, long-term growth prospects, a relatively low default risk and excellent diversification characteristics", said Matthias Reicherter, head of the infrastructure investment team at Golding Capital Partners. "Our team is looking forward to contributing to the high quality of HUK-COBURG's investments in the infrastructure space. As part of our mandate we will identify attractive investment targets that also go beyond straightforward fund investments.

Investments in classic infrastructure areas like transport, energy and utilities are planned for the portfolio. They will be supplemented by interests in renewable energies and other assets. In addition to fund commitments the mandate also covers co-investments and directs.

Erich J. Häs, the managing director of HUK-COBURG Asset Management GmbH responsible for the advisory relationship, commented, "It was the direct investment competence of the Golding team that convinced us. For us this is an absolute prerequisite for making qualified investment decisions in the infrastructure area. We trust the profound expertise of Golding Capital Partners in this segment."

"Since 2010 we have developed infrastructure as a strategic investment area and put together a team of experienced sector professionals. This mandate confirms our strategy. I am delighted to be continuing our close working relationship with the HUK-COBURG", said Jeremy Golding, founder and managing director of Golding Capital Partners.
