Globalvia appoints Javier Perez fortea as new CEO

Spanish concessionaire, Globalvia, has appointed a new CEO who will substitute Juan Bejar, now CEO of the FCC Group.

Javier Pérez Fortea will be the new Chief Executive Officer of the infrastructure concessions firm owned by Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas (FCC) and Bankia. Juan Bejar will remain as President or Chairman of the board of Directors of the company.

Mr. Perez Fortea joined Globalvia in 2011 as Managing Director. Previously, he had led Cintra's efforts in Europe and Chile for many years.

Javier Pérez Fortea has a Civil Engineering degree from the University of Evansville in Indiana (USA) and a MBA postgraduate degree from the London Business School.

Globalvia announced last week it had successfully completed a capital raising process to meet the requirements of its current portfolio and to facilitate future investments with the addition of a commitment of €150 million to a convertible instrument from Universities Superannuation Scheme Limited (USS)PGGM and OPTrust have signed an agreement by which they commit to provide €100 million each, in addition to the €400 million initially committed to in 2011.

Jaun Bejar, ex- CEO of Citi Infrastructure Investors, announced this week that Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas (FCC) planned to divest its stake in Globalvia during 2014.
