GDOT issues a RFQ for the West by Northwest PPP/P3 project. Georgia.US

I want to share with you that the Georgia Department of transportation has issued a RFQ for the first highway project to be delivered through its new Public Private Partnership (P3) program. The Department RFQ for the West by Northwest Project, which includes two complementary managed lane project segments, the Northwest Corridor and Western Corridor segments.P3 Georgia West by Northwest The Northwest Corridor and the Western Corridor will cost $1.1B and $1.2B respectively, based on GDOT's current preliminary studies. A winning developer will be paid in a form of availability or performance-based payments. Neither of the two segments has secured environmental clearance. Shortlisted teams will be selected on June 1, 2010.Georgia DOT will issue a Request for Qualifications on February 26, 2010. A shortlist of firms will be selected and asked to respond to a Request for Proposals issued later this year. Selection of the private partner will occur early in 2011. Construction on the Northwest Corridor is expected to start later in 2011, and is expected to take three years. Environmental work for the Western Corridor is expected to take three years, followed by three years of construction.This will be of interest for legal,financial and technical advisors. I'm pretty sure that developers are already teaming up and trying to form excellent structures for this mega project.Leave a comment if you want to share something with us. By the way, does anybody know whether the California Transportation Commision finally approved the Presidio Parkway/Doyle Drive project? We knew that the RFQ was issued but the approval was needed for the to move forward.UPDATE:The RFQ deadline for the Presidio Parkway/Doyle Drive project has been pushed back to March 11. And the California Transportation Comission is analyzing the project in April the 6th.
