Four teams submit bids for Cardel - Poza Rica highway concession

Mexico's transport and communications ministry (SCT) has received four bids for the PPP concession contract to develop the Cardel-Poza Rica highway.

The proposals were submitted on 6 May 2014 and the results of the evaluation of technical proposals and the opening of economic proposals will take place on May 20th.

The four companies that bid for the project are the following:

The project total investment is estimated at P4.07 billion (US$313 million). The project is part of the 2013-2017 Infrastructure Investment Plan launched by mexican president Enrique Peña Nieto.

The project consists in the construction of a A2 highway with two circulation lanes in the tranche between Laguna Verda and Gutiérrez Zamora, in the Veracruz state that will stretch 126km. Its goal is to serve 3,000 vehicles a day and speed up the transit along the Veracruz-Matamoros Corridor.

The last announcement on PPP road projects reported by Mexico's Secretariat of Communications and Transportation (SCT) took place in January this year when STC published that OHL México had been selected as the preferred bidder for the construction, operation and maintenance during 30 years of the Atizapán-Atlacomulco highway in the state of Mexico.
