Four consortia to compete for water supply concession in Peru

A total of four teams are in the race for Lima's water supply public private partnership (PPP) project in Peru.

The four teams qualified to bid for the project are the following:

  • Consorcio OC: Abengoa Perú, Abeinsa Infraestructuras Medio Ambiente, and Daelim Industrial Co. Ltd.

The concession involves the expansion of Pomacocha and Huallacocha dams, 10km trans-Andean tunnel to transfer water from the Pomacocha lagoon to the Blanco river, the upgrade of the Huachipa potable water plant to produce 5m3/s, the construction of the 25.6km distribution pipeline to deliver water to Lima's southern districts and other complementary works.

The project will be developed on a design, build, finance, operation and maintenance (DBFOM) basis for a period of 30 years. The total project investment is estimated at US$400 million.

For this project, Proinversion launched the tender process to hire advisors on 19 September 2014.
