Four bids in for Mexican hospital PPP

Four consortia have submitted bids for the Garcia General Regional Hospital PPP, located in the region of Nuevo León, Mexico.

Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), the contracting authority, has approved the technical offers and will open the financial proposals on August, 20. IMSS expects to award the project in mid-September.

The teams bidding for the project are:

  • Sacyr Concesiones México and Sacyr Concesiones
  • Acciona Concesiones México, Desarrollo y Construcciones Urbanas and MAKIBER 
  • Promotora y Desarrolladora Mexicana de Infraestructura and Infraestructura & Healthcare
  • Grupo Constructor Marhnos, Marhnos Turismo, Concesionaria de Proyectos de Infraestructura, Proyectos de Infraestructura Social México Avanza

The project involves the design, construction, equipment, operation and maintenance of a Level 2 Regional General Hospital with a capacity of 260 registered beds, 46 medical offices for the attention of 34 medical specialties and 10 operating rooms: seven for general surgery, one emergency room, and two for outpatient surgery. Medical services will be provided by IMSS staff.

Total project cost for the hospital is MXN2 billion (US$110 million).
