The State Company Russian Highways, Avtodor, has announced that five teams have bid for the Section 5 of the Moscow Central Ring Road (CRR).

The project is located  in the Naro-Fominsk, Odintsovo, Istra and Solnechnogorsk districts and the Zvenigorod Urban District of the Moscow region. The 76.44 km section 5 of the CRR project involves the construction, maintenance, current and capital repair of the road. The project includes the development of 8 bridges, 12 overpasses, among others.

The contract period is 23 years.  

The teams and its proposals are the following:

• Mostotrest has estimated the total project investment at RUB42.49 billion (US$1,013 million).

• Stroygazconsulting has estimated the total project investment at RUB39.42 billion (US$940.4 million).

• JSC "Crocus Internacional" has estimated the total project investment at RUB38.52 billion (US$916 million).

• Abra "Ring Road" has estimated the total project investment at RUB42.16 billion (US$1,005 million).

• Autobahn has estimated the total project investment at RUB42.31 billion (US$1,009 million).

The purpose of building the CRR of the Moscow region is to create the conditions for forming a modern transport infrastructure integrated into the network of international transport corridors, to unlock the transit potential of our country and to facilitate the servicing of traffic flows outside the central part of the Moscow transport hub, while reducing the traffic burden of its road network.

This project was tendered in mid September together with two other road PPP projects:

• M3 Ukraine project. The project involves the reconstruction, maintenance, current and capital repair and toll operation of the road from Moscow to the border with Ukraine (on to Kiev).
• 4th section of M-11 Moscow-St Petersburg highway (km 208 - km 258). The project involves the construction, maintenance, current and capital repair and toll operation of the road
