Brazilian state of Goiás, through the state water company Saneago, has announced that it has received five expressions of interest for a PPP contract to improve wastewater services in the Entorno do Distrito Federal microregion.
Goiânia-based Saneago is engaged in the supply and treatment of water and in the collection and treatment of sewage.

The deadline for expressions of interest for the project was extended from March 14th to April 1st.
The area covered by the PPP contract includes ten municipalities: Águas Lindas de Goiás, Alexânia, Cidade Ocidental, Cristalina, Formosa, Luziânia, Novo Gama, Planaltina, Santo Antônio do Descoberto and Valparaíso de Goiás.
According to sources, Saneago expects to reach 95% wastewater collection and treatment in the state by 2018. Current coverage rate for both collection and treatment of sewage in the area is 44.8%.
