Colombia's National Infrastructure Agency (ANI) has recently announced the companies competing for the tender process for the construction of the Bogotá-Girardot PPP-PI project, which is a public-private partnership under a private initiative scheme.

ANI revealed that the five teams competing for the project are the following:

  • Infraestructura Concesionada SAS (It was the private initiative originator)
  • Concesionario Vías del Desarrollo, formed by:
    • Bentos SAS (75 %)
    • China Gezhouba Group Company Limited  (25%)
  • OHL Concesiones SAS (100%)
  • Estructura Plural TC Girardot - Bogotá, formed by:

The Bogotá-Girardot PPP-PI project consists of the addition of a new lane in both directions in the current Bogotá-Girardot highway becoming a six lane highway. The new lane will be implemented from the Sumapaz tunnel to the municipality of Granada, along 67 kilometers. The project also provides for the maintenance and rehabilitation of 154.81 kilometers of existing track. The estimated construction investment is about US$550 million.

The ANI has communicated that final proposals from interested firms will be received until June 1, 2016 and the project will be awarded on August 12.
