Saudi Water Partnerships Company (SWPC) has achieved financial close for three Independent Sewage Treatment Plants projects- Tabuk-2 ISTP, Buraydah-2 ISTP and Madinah-3 ISTP. The consortium of Acciona, Tawzea and Tamasuk is responsible for all these PPP projects.
The Tabuk-2 project will have a total treatment capacity of 90,000 m3 per day with a total cost of around SAR550 million (US$146.46 million). The Buraydah-2 project will have a treated capacity of 150,000 m3 per day and has a total cost of around SAR845 million (US$225 million). Worth around SAR960 million (US$255.6 million), the Madinah-3 plant will have a capacity of 200,000 m3 per day. All three projects will be built and operated by the private sector for a period of 25 years.
The SWPC and the Consortium succeeded in completing the financial closure procedures in close cooperation with the group of lenders.
