Financial Close for Vigo hospital concession

On 2 August 2013,  AXIS, the private equity arm of the Spanish public bank, Instituto de Crédito Oficial (ICO), has participated in the €320 million financing of Vigo hospital concession with a participative loan of €30 million.

The financing operation has been completed by:

  • a €110 million loan from BBVABanco Santander, Banco Popular, Caixabank and NovaCaixa Galicia Banco;
  • a €110 million loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB); and
  • €70 million equity from the concessionaire.

The project includes the construction of the new Vigo Hospital (NHV) and the management of non-clinical services of the University of Vigo hospital (CHUVI).

The concessionaire, Sociedade Concesionaria Novo Hospital de Vigo, S.A., is formed by AccionaConcessia Cartera y Gestión de Infraestructuras, Dalkia and Puentes y Calzadas.

The concessionaire will manage the hospital for 20 years.

The hospital is expected to become operational in 2015 after a construction period of 4 years and will have a capacity of 1,465 beds.
