Barranquilla Metropolitan Area, Transmetro S.A.S. and Financiera de Desarrollo Nacional (FDN) have signed a contract by which FDN will provide with technical, legal and financial restructuring of an Integrated Public Transport System.

The project aims to modernize and reorganize the public transport in Barranquilla Area, Colombia. The project will benefit 2.2 million inhabitants in the area.

The project involves the development of an integrated transport system capable of unifying the public transport and mass transit systems. This will enable citizens to reach more destinations while having a pricing and operational integrated system.

This process will have a duration of 24 months.

FDN is a development bank created by the Colombian government in 2011 with the objective to manage and stimulate the financing & structuring of the key infrastructure projects in Colombia.
