Falmouth University tenders student accommodation PPP

Falmouth University, UK, has launched a tender process to carry out a student accommodation PPP project on the south west of the University's Penryn Campus.

The delivery of the project will be on a phased basis with a minimum of 400 bed spaces, up to a maximum of 500, to be delivered in phase 1 in readiness for occupation at the commencement of the 2018/19 academic year.

The maximum total number of bed spaces which could be delivered through both phases 1 and 2 is 1100.  It is envisaged that phase 2 would be commissioned to enable occupation of the bed spaces in readiness for occupation at the commencement of the 2020/21 academic year.

In addition to the bed spaces, the University may also require the successful bidder to deliver social space within the residential development.

The project will be developed on a design, build, finance and operation (DBFO) basis. The concession contract will have a period between 40 years and 50 years.

Interested parties must submit their request to participate on or before 12 February 2015.
