Southeastern Brazil's Espírito Santo state has announced plans for three PPP projects: the Greater Victoria water transport, twenty schools in Espiritu Santo, and a project to modernize criminal and civil identification in the state.
The Greater Victoria water transport is currently in tender stage. The tender process was launched on 29 September 2014. Interested parties must submit their proposals on or before 31 October 2014.
The water line would link Praça do Papa - Centro de Vitória and Argolas - Centro de Vitória - Porto Santana. The project would be developed on a design, build, finance, operation and maintenance basis. The concession period would be 20 years. The concession value is estimated at R$1,410 million (US$628.5 million).
The construction and operation of 20 schools in Espiritu Santo is currently in planning stage. A team of advisors composed by Odebrecht and Socicam have been appointed to develop feasibility studies for the PP project.
The project to modernize criminal and civil identification in the state is in public consultation stage. A tender committee has been created to conduct the tender process for the project.
Brazil has several PPP projects in planning stage. See a few examples below:
Sorocoba Clinic Hospital PPP project: In late August we published that the Municipality of Sorocaba, São Paulo state, Brazil, announced a public hearing for the project.
Ciuabá administrative center PPP project: In mid August we reported that Galvão Engenharia had been the only company authorized for the preparation of the feasibility study to develop the project.
