The European Investment Bank (EIB) is analyzing to support Warsaw based Eiser CEE Infrastructure Fund.
The fund's target size is €300 million (US$321.3 million). The proposed EIB funding has not been disclosed.
Eiser CEE Infrastructure Fund will be focused on projects in Central and Eastern Europe. It aims to build a diversified portfolio of assets both across geographies and sectors, with a particular focus on:
The fund has been launched by Eiser Infrastructure Partners LLP, an independent equity fund manager, after the company opened an office in Poland. The firm primarily invests in infrastructure with a focus on energy, principally distribution and renewables power-generation; environmental services, mainly in the water and waste management sector; commercial transportation assets, such as city airports and social infrastructure; particularly new-build development projects.
According to sources, the Polish government will need capital from investment funds as it will not be able to carry out all of its infrastructural investments with just EU funds, especially beyond 2020.
