Eight proposals received for Indonesian cruise port PPP project

The Indonesian government is evaluating proposals of candidates for development of a terminal at the Tanah Ampo cruise port in the province of Bali, the public private partnership (PPP) procurement director of Indonesia's National Development Planning Board (Bappenas), Mohammad Zulfikar, told Jakarta Post a few days ago.

A total of eight companies, among which are state-owned port operator Pelabuhan Indonesia III, or Pelindo III and Indonesian Bakrie & Brothers, others from Asia and Europe, have participated in the pre-qualification, the source said.

The procedure will start in August 2013.  The winner is spected to be announced by year-end 2013. The government wants the terminal construction to start in 2014.

The Ministry of Transportation launched a Request for Expression of Interest to select a concessionaire to finance, design, construct, operate and maintain the Tanah Ampo Cruise Terminal in April 2012 but the tender had to be relaunched in May 2013.

The project is worth between US$15 million and US$20 million.
