Eight companies submitted qualifications for Olsztyn Waste-to-Energy project Eight companies responded to a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for Olsztyn Waste-to-Energy project:

The project

The private partner will select and provide the inputs for the design, construction, technology, management and operation of the plant. The public stakeholder specified RDF (Refuse Derived Fuel) fired plant as a preferred solution but this is to be further discussed and developed during negotiations.

The contract is expected to be awarded by the end of year 2013. This will be preceded by the competitive dialogue procedure.

With tentative budget of €200 million and minimum equity investment of €40 million, the project will be the first large size PPP in the energy sector in Poland. The existing plant Kortowo will be be operated under same package contract.
