Eiffage acquires civil contractor in Canada

Eiffage, acting through its Eiffage Travaux Publics subsidiary, has acquired a 70 % stake in Innovative Civil Constructors Inc. (ICCI), a Canadian company specialising in the construction and rehabilitation of civil engineering structures.

This acquisition represents a new step forward in Eiffage's international redeployment. It opens the door for Eiffage Travaux Publics to the vast and dynamic Canadian infrastructure market and holds out the promise of powerful synergies in the context of major, high value-added projects.

ICCI, a fast-growing company founded in 2011 by a highly experienced team which will remain unchanged, is expected to generate nearly CAD$100 million in sales in 2014. The firm is a heavy civil contracting company with over 90 years of senior infrastructure, rehabilitation, and construction experience operating across Canada, it specializes in concrete structure rehabilitation, new bridge and rehabilitation projects. With a workforce of some 100 people, the company, head-quartered at Niagara Falls, Ontario, serves public and private sector clients across Canada all year round.

Few days ago we reported that VINCI GroupEiffage's direct competitor, has acquired Imperial Paving, a contractor specialized in quality paving, seal coating, and striping, based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Imperial Paving Limited engages in building roads, highways, and runways. The company also offers project management and design build services; asphalt hot-mix and AC premix transportation and placement services; concrete curb and gutter, sidewalk exposed aggregate stamped and decorative concrete, and related work services; and road building and reconstruction services, including excavation and civil pipe installations.
