EIB considers investing in BaltCap Infrastructure Fund

The European Investment Bank (EIB) has announced it is considering investing in BaltCap Infrastructure Fund.

The investment fund focuses on transport and energy projects in the Baltic countries (Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania).

The fund will invest equity primarily in small to medium-sized greenfield infrastructure assets through special purpose vehicles (SPVs) alongside a strong industrial partner.

EIB is proposing investing an approximate amount of €20 million (US$22 million) of the €80 million (US$88 million) total cost.

In August 2016, we reported EIB considered investing in the Deutsche Pan-European Infrastructure Fund II, managed by Deutsche AM Infrastructure. The fund focus on the energy and transportation sector, with EU and EFTA countries expected to be a key market.

In July 2016, we also reported that the European Investment Bank (EIB) invested up to €62 million (US$68.7 million) in the SUSI Renewable Energy Fund II (SUSI RE II), a fund managed by SUSI Partners AG.
