Egypt seeks developer for Nile bus river PPP

Cairo Governorate, represented by the Cairo Transport Authority with technical assistance from the PPP Central Unit of the Ministry of Finance of the Arab Republic of Egypt, has requested prequalification applications from prospective bidders for a 25-year Public Private Partnership contract for financing, developing, and operation of the Nile River Bus Ferry PPP Project.

In October 2015 we reported that the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the PPP unit of the Ministry of Finance of Egypt were working together in order to push the development of PPP projects in the country, including the Nile River Bus Ferry Project.

In July 2015 we also published that the EBRD had selected Ernst & Young to advise on the Nile River transport PPP project in Egypt. Ernst & Young would carry out the completion of the feasibility study and the PPP tender preparation. The contract value was €1.19 million (US$1.3 million).

The deadline for submission of prequalification applications is 3:00 PM (Cairo time), June 29th.
