Egypt cancels 6 October wastewater PPP project The 6 October wastewater treatment plant has been cancelled, according to a source reported by MEED,
because there is a large amount of industrial wastewater in the same system as the domestic wastewater. As a result, pre-treatment of the industrial wastewater would have been necessary, which would push up the costs of the project and present significant technical difficulties.
Egypt's PPP Central Unit started the tender process back in the end of year 2009 and according to MEED, 10 groups of developers were to submit final bids before April 2011, when the Arab uprisings disrupted the process. You can read more at MEED:  http://www.meed.com/sectors/water/wastewater/egypt-cancels-wastewater-ppp-project/3136535.article#ixzz1uB06ueeD
