The Ministry of Public Works in Chile has opened the economical offers for the National Cancer Institute project at the site of the former San José Hospital, in Independencia, Santiago, Chile. The hospital will be built over an area of 86,000 m2 with a total of 249 beds serving a population of 11.6 million people over 15 years of age.
Obrascón Huarte Lain SA submitted the lowest economic bid of UF397,007 (US$14.58 million) as a fixed subsidy for construction (SFC) and UF169,000 (US$6.20 million) as a fixed subsidy for operation (SFO). The estimated investment value for the project is UF4.07 million (US$172.84 million).
The project is expected to be awarded by the end of 2022. The construction is scheduled to begin in the second half of 2025 and operation is expected to start in the first half of 2030.
