EBP submits unsolicited proposal for Rio sanitation project

Estruturadora Brasileira de Projetos S.A. (EBP) has submitted an unsolicited proposal to carry out the development of a sanitation public private partnership (PPP) project in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The unsolicited proposal was studied by the PPP Authority of Rio de Janeiro in early May.

Specifically the company has requested authorization to develop technical, environmental, economic, financial and legal studies for water and sewage services in the regions of Baixada Fluminense/Bacia do Guandu and Leste Metropolitano Fluminense.

The project had already been declared a priority by the Governor of Rio de Janeiro, Luiz Fernando Bigfoot. The government has plans to launch a tender process to select the preferred bidder for the project.

In late May the Brazilian municipality of Sorocaba launched a request for expressions of interest (RfEOI) to develop the feasibility studies for a waste PPP projectOdebrecht Ambiental and Ecopav Soluções Ambientais had previously submitted an unsolicited proposal to develop the project.
