DIF Infrastructure II and Kier close financing for London fire PFI
On 1 August 2013, Blue 3, a consortium comprising DIF Infrastructure II and Kier as co-investors, reached financial close to design, build and maintain nine new community fire stations in South-East and East London on behalf of London Fire Brigade.
DIF has a 50% equity stake in the project. The government is providing £52m funding under the private finance initiative and Blue 3's contract will run for 28 years.
The fire stations will be built and maintained by Kier and handed over between September 2013 and February 2016. Stations at Purley, Dockhead, Old Kent Road, Mitcham, Dagenham, Leytonstone, Plaistow, Orpington and Shadwell will replace the current fire stations on the same site as the existing facilities which were built up to 100 years ago.
These new fire stations will deliver the quality and flexibility of accommodation needed to support a 21st century fire service, and facilitate fire prevention work through the provision of publicly accessible buildings with community engagement at its heart.

Bluefield Fund announces first solar acquisition
Bluefield Solar Income Fund Limited announced it has entered into binding contracts to acquire a large-scale solar plant in Oxfordshire for a total investment consideration of £12 million.The agricultural site located near Abingdon will be one of the largest in the region.
