Kannur International Airport is an upcoming international airport located at Mattanur in Kannur District, Kerala, India. It is expected that the Kannur airport would become operational by 2014. The Prime Minister has included it in the list of three airport projects for fast-tracking. When completed in 2015 as projected, Kannur will become the fourth international airport in the State.

Cochin International Airport Ltd was engaged as the consultant for the detailed project report and the main runway. It has submitted the detailed project report to Kannur International Airport Ltd (KIAL) four months ahead of schedule.

The airport will be managed by a company with the following proposed equity structure:

• 26% - the state government
• 23% - the state-owned public sector organisations
• 2% - government companies
• 49% - private investors

Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) estimates that US$590 million will be required to build the Kannur International Airport.
