Colombia's National Infrastructure Agency, ANI, has awarded the contract to conduct pre-feasibility studies of El Dorado II airport PPP project to a consortium composed by Deloitte and Durán & Osorio.
The contract involves the development of a study to design the financial and legal structure of a PPP model for the airport, which will have to incorporate the new terminal under construction.
The total contract value is estimated at P910 million (US$377,000).
The tender process for the contract was launched two months ago. At that time, Colombian Vice President Germán Vargas Lleras stated:
The idea is to structure the strategic, financial and legal components of an PPP project that integrates the existing El Dorado airport with the new El Dorado II.
The government of Colombia is currently developing a second terminal on a separate site from the existing El Dorado airport. This expansion project has a total investment estimated at US$1.1 billion. The project is expected to be operational in five years.
Colombia's National Aviation Authority, Aerocivil, launched in March a tender process for the development of a master plan to develop the new airport. The total contract value is estimated at P4.8 billion (US$1.82 million).
