Cuiabá, the capital city of the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso, has plans to launch a tender process for a street lighting PPP project.
The tender process is expected to be launched in February 2016. The selected bidder will be responsible for the upgrade, expansion, operation and maintenance of the city´s public lighting network.
The contract value is estimated at R$752 million (US$184.6 million) and the concession contract will have a period of 30 years.
The project's feasibility studies were developed by two consortia, one composed of Citéluz Serviços de Iluminação Urbana S/A and F.M. Rodrigues & Cia Ltda, and another made up Engeluz Iluminação e Eletricidade Ltda. and Construtora Nhambiquaras.
Cuiabá, located in the center of South America, is between some of the fastest-growing cities in Brazil. It has a total area of 3,538 km2 and a population of approximately 550,000 in habitants.
Interested parties must submit their proposals on or before February 19, 2016.
