Brazil's Minas Gerais state water utility, COPASA, has started a public consultation procedure for a 27-year public-private partnership (PPP) to expand and operate its wastewater system in the city of Divinópolis.
Wastewater plantThe deadline for submission of suggestions and comments is August 23, 2013. A public hearing is scheduled for August 21 at the COPASA auditorium in Belo Horizonte.
The project will involve an investment of R$203 million (US$89 million) being R$$122 million expected within the first three years.
The feasibility studies for the project were carried out by Development Bank of Minas Gerais.
The PPP includes building the Itapecerica and Ermida sewage collection and treatment systems. In phase 2, the Itapecerica system will be expanded. The contract also involves expanding the city's Pará wastewater system.Source: PPP Brasil
