NTA (Metropolitan Mass Transit Systems) has selected the preferred bidder to deliver the Purple Line light rail Transit PPP in Tel Aviv, Israel. The chosen consortium is formed by the CAF Group and the construction firm Shapir. The CAF Group will also have a 50% stake in the SPV company.
The consortium will be responsible for the design, construction, financing and maintenance of the city's LRV system for a term of 25 years. The scope of the contract also includes the design and supply of 98 new low-floor Urbos trams, each consisting of 5 modules, spanning a length of almost 35 meters. The consortium will also supply the signaling, energy and communication systems, as well as maintain the line.
The new line is expected to be fully operational by 2027.
The state of Israel has signed the concession agreement with IDE Technologies for the Sorek B desalination plant PPP project, for the Design, Finance, Construction, Operation and Maintenance of a seawater desalination plant based on Reverse Osmosis technology, which will be the largest desalination plant in Israel.
