The Malaysian Minister of Transport has announced that a consortium between Reneuco Bhd and Citaglobal Bhd has bagged a tender to develop an independent power producer (IPP) project for the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) network.
The consortium has received and accepted a letter of intent (LoI) from Malaysia Rail Link Sdn Bhd (MRL) to plan, design, finance, develop, build, install, complete, commission and operate the project. The project involves the development of a 640-km railway link connecting different parts of the east coast region with the west coast region in Malaysia. The rail line will connect state capitals, major urban centers, industrial centers, ports, airports and tourist areas, as well as interchanges with existing rail lines.
A subsidiary of the Malaysian Ministry of Finance is developing the project and will manage it in a 50:50 joint venture with China Communications Construction Company and the Ministry of Transport, through Agensi Pengangkutan Awam Darat (APAD), will oversee and regulate the project.
The Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB) has formed a 10-year 5G partnership with Ericsson to drive the nationwide deployment of the next-generation wireless cellular technology in Malaysia.

The Department of Environment (DoE) in Malaysia has approved the environmental impact assessment (EIA) report for the Pan Island Link 1 highway project (PIL1). PIL1 is a part of Malaysia's Penang Transport Master Plan (PTMP).
The PTMP is a long term comprehensive plan formed by the Penang state government to improve transportation within the State of Penang. The plan is expected to cost RM27 billion (US$6.65 billion), and includes more alternative transportation modes to fight traffic congestion across the state.
