Colombia’s national infrastructure agency ANI has awarded the La Dorada - Chiriguaná railway rehabilitation concession to Consorcio San Felipe Férreo.
The San Felipe Férreo Consortium, consisting of Castro Tcherassi SA, Infraestructura Comsa Colombia SAS, and Comsa Colombia SAS, has emerged as the successful bidder for the COP71,715 million (US$17.18 million) Public Works contract. The contract pertains to the maintenance, conservation, and improvement of the La Dorada - Chiriguaná railway corridor. By undertaking these works, the Consortium aims to enhance the functionality and efficiency of the railway corridor, contributing to improved transportation and connectivity between the interior and the Caribbean region.
Spanning a length of 522 km, the La Dorada - Chiriguaná section is a crucial railway corridor connecting the country's interior with the Caribbean zone. It traverses multiple departments, including Caldas, Antioquia, Santander, Norte de Santander, and Caesar. The scope of the project includes a range of significant works. These include repairs and maintenance of stations and warehouses, rehabilitation and repair of existing change ways, installation of signaling systems, and the implementation of socio-environmental programs and activities.
