Oman's Power and Water Procurement Company (OPWP) has invited financial advisory bids to assist in the tender of the Wadi Dayqah IWP.
The winning consultant will help OPWP in preparing a detailed tender document and preparation of a contract for building the project on a Build, Operate and Own (BOO) basis.
The desalination capacity of the project is yet to be determined.
The proposed IWP is the second water project in Qurayyat. The first major IWP in Qurayyat, which has a desalination capacity of 44 million imperial gallons per day (MIGD)-capacity, is being developed by a consortium comprising Singapore’s Hyflux and National Power and Water Company. The Qurayyat desalination project, which is using reverse osmosis technology, is in an advanced stage of completion.
OPWP is responsible for the procurement of new electricity generating capacity and water in Oman in accordance with the requirement of the law for the regulation and privatization of the electricity and related water sector.
The deadline for submitting proposals is October 30, 2017. The request for proposals can be downloaded here.
A tender seeking for technical advisors for the project was launched last August.
