Consultant sought for implementation of Odisha infrastructure program

The UK Department for International Development (DFID) is seeking a consultant to provide technical assistance support for implementation of Odisha Urban Infrastructure Programme in India.

The technical assistance support is likely to be commissioned by 1 August 2014 and the team is expected to be mobilised by 1 September 2014. The contract will be for a period 24 months but an extension further 24 months may be considered.

Interested parties must submit theirs request to participate on or before 16 May 2014. While the date of dispatch of invitations to tender to selected candidates is scheduled on 6 June 2014.

The outcome of the program is that the urban department and municipalities are able to leverage domestic and external investments to improve urban basic services in Odisha. Outcome indicators will be:

  • Domestic resource mobilisation: own source revenue increase in six target cities and towns.
  • Economic development: five public private partnership (PPP) deals entered into and reaching financial closure in urban basic services
  • Water and sanitation: additional people access improved drinking water sources and improved sanitation facility in target cities directly attributable to OSUI.
